Bruce LaFera is a proud third-generation resident of Mendham Borough and graduate of West Morris Mendham High School. He and his wife Elisiane returned to Mendham in 2021 to raise their two young sons in the same close-knit community that shaped his values.
Bruce holds an Associates Degree in Criminal Justice from County College of Morris and with over 20 years of service as a law enforcement officer, he has dedicated his career to protecting and serving others. His roots in public safety began here in Mendham as a volunteer firefighter and EMT with the First Aid Squad.
Appointed to the Borough Council in March 2025, Bruce serves as Chairman of the Department of Public Works and Utilities, where he focuses on maintaining infrastructure responsibly and ensuring residents receive reliable, high-quality services.
Bruce is committed to preserving Mendham’s traditions, safety, and character, and strongly opposes state-imposed affordable housing mandates that place unsustainable burdens on small towns. Drawing on decades of public service and deep community ties, Bruce is ready to continue working for residents and keeping Mendham a place we are all proud to call home.
Neil has deep roots in Mendham Borough, where his family first settled in the mid-1990s. He and his wife Maureen have called Mendham home since 2012, raising their three children—currently in the Borough’s public school system—along with their adopted dog, Rex.
A graduate of Lafayette College with a B.A. in Mathematics & Economics, Neil also holds an MBA in Finance from Seton Hall University. His 20+ year career in corporate finance includes Big 4 accounting and over a decade of leadership roles at a Fortune 50 company.
Neil’s commitment to public service began shortly after moving to Mendham, serving as a Borough Councilman since 2022, Past President and member of the Pastime Club, Little League and Rec Basketball coach, Cub Scout leader, and active participant on various boards and committees, including the Joint Land Use Board and the Economic Development Committee.
If re-elected, Neil’s priorities include maintaining fiscal discipline while delivering high-quality services, supporting small businesses and the Historic Business District, investing in recreation and open space, and opposing high-density over development. Guided by principles of fiscal responsibility, individual liberty, and local control, Neil is dedicated to protecting Mendham’s character while fostering a safe, vibrant, and welcoming community.
